Horn keeps going off

Hi,
I recently replaced my blinker relay on my 66 C10, and had to remove my steering wheel for that reason.
After reassembling everything, my horn starts blaring. I thought I had reassembled everything correctly but obviously not. This is a steering wheel with the chrome horn ring (not the button), and all information I can find speaks about the button assembly.
As far as I know, the assembly goes as follows:
1- Contact (with spring)
2 - Metal disk
3 - Plastic disk (fits in the bent grooves of the metal disk)
4 - Chrome horn ring
5 - Plastic ring with screw openings
6 - Screws.

I even replaced the horn relay, and the second I connect the wires to the relay and horn, it goes off. Any suggestions what I am doing wrong?

Horn contact fault

Hi Brudi
As previous pointed out by another member the horn ring just grounds the relay to close the contacts and feed the horns. If it goes continuously it means the wire is grounded.if you remove the horn ring assembly and the problem goes away you can assume that the wire is not shorted to ground but the fault lies in the contact assembly. See if you can find a diagram of how it goes together. Look for any broken or damaged insulators that could allow the button to go to ground.
