I am building a 66 C10 (long bed) and was wondering what sort of top speed I can expect?

I have a slightly modified 350, 700R4 transmission and standard 12 bolt rear diff.

It depends on how your rear end is geared and how tall your rear tires are. Many truck,s had 410 rear gears andabout 90 was top end. My old 283 with 410,s would wind 30 in low 60 in second and 90 in high. Installed a 390 Horse 427 and 10-15 rear tires and it would hide the speedometer in a quarter mile. Boy I miss the days of 30 cent per gallon high test gas!

A th-700r4 is an overdrive trans, ( four speed) The gearing that was used was 3.06 for first gear, 1.63 for second, 1 for third gear, and 0.7 for fourth gear, essentially a 30% overdrive. those speeds posted are for a built motor.
