I have a1976 Chevy truck 350 5.7 , the truck runs and drives good but for some reason it just shuts down when I am coming to a stop . It idles perfectly , I just can’t figure out why it just turns off , has anyone had this issue or have a clue of what it could be

yes , it was running fine for a while when I would take it out but know it runs good, the idle is where it’s supposed to be but it just automatically shuts off when I come to a complete stop or on reverse

Certainly sounds like a carb tuning issue, first I would increase the idle speed and see if that helps.
