I have a 69’ shortbed and just got a complete air ride kit from Ridetech. The kit comes with a stencil for a C-notch but I am planning to do a bolt on step notch from Porter built. Does anyone know if the step notch and bridge assembly is universal and can be used with Ridetech trailing arms?

I would call Ridetech tech support, they should be able to tell you. Aren't C notches normally bolted in and Step notches welded?

They can both be bolt on and or welded The bolt on step notch is a great way to start for a beginner. You can always weld it later on.

can you match the Ridetech templete to the Porter notch?

if so it should work assuming the Porter installs same place as RideTech

And there is nothing wrong with the bolt in. There is very little weight on the rear part of the chassis, so little strain on the rear rails. Plus, if you powder coat the chassis you can do that with the notches off and the bolt them in afterwards insuring that everything is coated. Worked for me.
