I recently bought a 72 C20 with some modern chrome 20" Silverado wheels that I don't like. Looking for more of a classic look. Found some steel wheels to throw on but looking for tire recommendations. The wheels are stock GMT 400 (88-98 Chevy trucks) wheels, 6.5 X 16. What is the widest tire I could go with on that size wheel? Thanks.

Probably in the neighborhood of 8" to 10" depending what Brand and or Design/style and Manufacture. I have a General 225-75-16 tire on rim (5" bead) that is 8" across the tread. Others might chime in with better info.

I have 255/70/16 that came standard on my 01 Sierra with 6.5" rims. 255mm = about 10".

Thank you. I ended up going with a 255/70/16. They ended up looking great.
