We have a 1961 Apache C10 that currently has a bench seat and what looks like part of a lap belt setup. This truck will be for my 14 y.o. son when he turns 16 so I would really like to install shoulder belts. Rapping on the B-pillars it sounds like simply sheet steel with little to no structural support. I am thinking about installing seats with the seat/shoulder belt built into the seat but my son would like to retain the bench seat.

Has anyone done this or have any suggestions of what seats to swap? What I'm thinking are like the split bench seats from a 2000 or newer Buick LeSlaber or Park Ave. They were available with a split bench with shoulder belts in the seats. All I would need is solid anchor points in the floor. What say you wise sages?

I myself used `05 Silverado buckets with the builtin shoulder harness, works great, the split bench has been used by others, just beside to use grade eight bolts with 3 inch heavy washers on the underside to prevent pull thru.
