I am trying to figure out what rear axle assembly I have and I need some help, I don't know if it has been swapped out or not. I need to replace brakes, axle seals, possibly axle bearings and eventually go to 3:73 ratio.
To begin with it's a 1963 C10 swb, it has a 1968 250 inline six and a 1984-1986 T5 transmission. The guy that I got it from claims that it is a 1965 12 bolt rear axle assembly with new 3:08 gears. I know that it's a 12 bolt (that was easy enough to figure out) but I would like to know if it's a '65 or not. Here are the stampings on the passenger side axle tube "TDA 1219 W2". Anybody?

TDA I believe is a `70 rear axle code, if its 6 lug its 3.73, 5 lug 3.07......

Well it was a 6 lug originally but axles have been redrilled. P.o. said that he put 3:08's in it because the ones he took out were too low. I suspect that they were 3:07's since it was a truck and the ones he took out were 3:73's
. Thanks for your help.
