New to me truck - Truck has been repainted and has some spots that I want to touch up. Tring to figure out if they used the stock colors or not from the RPO code on the glovebox door. Can someone tell by the numbers what the original GM paint code is?

Thanks,
Mike

Not sure where you live, but my local paint supply has a gun that they can point at several spots and it will match the colors. Then they can mix an exact touch up.

According to this thread.."553 is the two tone code for 523 Silver poly and 526 Ivory"?

Dave your Link or Info shows for a 1967 Truck and 1968 Truck is what he has and 1968 Colors are a little different but his "553" code (your link) shows for 64-67 truck but on the other hand the 1968 Color Code shows "553" is for 64-68 so might still be the same color- - - - - or not. just saying.

But the paint code he has appears to be an early paint code, maybe early 68, left over from 67?

Very well might be true for both years but 67 is 67 (64-67 color chart) and 68 is 68 (64-68 color chart) being it is a silver metallic color shade/hue and the 68 silver metallic might be just a little different "lighter or darker. Still yes it does show 553 on both year color code sheets/charts - No argument there.
