Hello,
My wife and I recently purchased a 1966 Chevy C20 Longbed. We are happy to be part of the C10/C20 community.
We are here because we know very little about what we are doing. I have limited mechanical skills or knowledge about these trucks. What can I say, my wife wanted one (her dad had an 1964 C10) after we went to Day Four of Sick Week 2023 in Gainesville.
It was realized quickly that we weren’t going find one ready to go. We have a limited budget. We also found out that decent ones don’t last long as we had one sold before we could look at it, even after communicating our interest and desire to see it. I jumped at this one when we found it. The rebuilt 327 with Brodix aluminum heads triggered the impulse. I remember many hours of flipping through the Jegs and Summit catalogs when I was in high school.
He is named Oscar because he looks like a grouchy truck. He is not as road ready as we had hoped, but that’s ok. We wanted a driver that we could work on and still go for weekend drives. Anyway, here we are! We look forward to learn about our truck and make new friends along the way.
