Here is a few pictures. Looking forward to restoring this over the next fifteen years. I plan on this being my sons (or daughters) first truck. This will be my first vehicle to restore. This will be a challenge but I'm definitely looking forward to it.
Looks to be in pretty good shape already. Enjoy. I have a 86 that my son and I are doing now.Taking it down to bare metal to put a nice paint job on it. We just replaced the 305 with a 350. A lot more power.
Super looking truck ! ! And a big block to boot ! ! You can start by looking at the front pad on the passenger side ( right ) under your alternator, there will be some letters and a sequence of numbers. This will help identified the block, and on the back of the engine drivers side ( left ) a series of numbers will also help. We have a complete guide the will help you with these. Post what you find and we can help. bowtiedb
OK, ya have to remove the alternator. It will be right below the cylinder head where the cylinder block sticks out past. Grab a wire brush and give it a scrubbing till the numbers appear. I will be at the shop this moring and take a picture of the location. Also your not beating a dead horse, we're happy to help.... anim_25
