I got to thinking today that it's time to get going on my '59 (GMC). Then I remembered that I need to fix the alternator on my '77 4x4 (GMC) - I have a '78 4x4 (CHEV) that I can pull it from and I have my '03 Duramax 4-door (CHEV) work truck. That's what I have now!

I had a bunch of Chevys before. The '73 3/4 350 that was my favorite. Orange and white -16" steelies. Then there was the '74 1/2-ton 454 LB and a '76 1/2-ton 350. All these were in the last 15 years. That doesn't count the two '80 LUVs (one 4x4) that I had before these.

I've been thru a ton of trucks.

About 25 right now.
10 of which are drivers.
The rest are parts trucks.
Sounds like a lot,but I've been scrapping for years to support my car/truck habit,so many were very cheap and even free.
I've no idea how many I've gone thru over the years, but a lot!

Had a 77 GMC way back when I lived in Illinois in the early 80's. I've had my 71 C30 Longhorn, 402/700R4 since '96. Bought a 69 C20 last July to flip, it went to Australia in October.....

I have a had a bunch of C10s and 1500 to 3500s over the years, about 13 or 14 but for some reason I just can't part with the two I have now. The '67 I have had since 1984 and the 3500 since 1994. I may be talking trash but my current project is a Ford, 1940.

I think a fair estimate of trucks I have owned, sold or dismantled is somewhere close to 1,000 trucks, Blazers and Suburbans in the last 30 years. When I first started my business I could buy running trucks that were decent in the $500.00 range. I got many for free just to remove them from someone's yard. The most expensive ( in the 80's) was my 72 Cheyenne Super 3/4 4X4. I paid $1500.00 for it ( still have it and have never driven it) and a parts truck and that got me excited. I decided to buy as many as I could find and that's what started my whole business. I've never looked back. I have 8 to 10 now including my 85, 86, and 87 besides tons of parts and a bunch of project trucks.
I'll have to sell my business to ever find the time to complete any of my personal trucks and projects. Some of these are like Barn finds as they have been sitting and waiting for 25 years. I really admire owners who are not in the auto related business and yet can find time to put one of these trucks together and actually drive it daily.
