Flywheel Cover

539 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Dave S
I just bought my first 64 Chevy C10 and noticed the flywheel cover is missing. I ordered from Classic Industries and the part was too small. Any ideas? Is there only one cover that will fit a 283 v8 with a powerglide transmission?
The previous owner put a shifter on the floor (2 speed automatic) and I would like to put it back on the column. Is it possible the previous owner put in a different transmission?
( I'm not a mechanic and can't tell what transmission is installed by looking at it.)

That would be a flexplate inspection cover(also called dust cover) for a power glide. Did you order the correct part?

Dave, I called the company and they said there is only one part that should fit that particular model. It's close but not a perfect fit.

Is it hitting your flexplate? Or starter? There's 2 different styles...153 tooth and 168 tooth.

If you look at Summit Racing for example..they have 3 different covers and none of them have more than 2 star ratings.
