I’ve got a 66 with a 350. Had an edlebrock carb with vacuum secondaries but stopped running right with that. Borrowed a Holley 600 with vacuum secondaries as well and atleast runs now. But it’s still hiccuping with i give it gas and just stops for a second and doesn’t wanna go. Thinking it’s the timing. Any ideas?

Check the carb base, intake, and vacuum advance hose/diaphragm for vacuum leaks first, if thats good need to look at mechanical advance for broken springs stuck weights or if its just plain worn out.
Use aresol carb cleaner to check for vacuum leaks while engine is running, if engine speeds up you have found a vacuum leak, engine off remove vacuum advance hose from carb, suck on the end of it, if there is no resistance you`re vacuum diaphram is broken.
