1965 Chevrolet C10 lwb/long bed step side

my C10 still has the original style fuse panel with the glass bulb fuses.

The fuse on the heater blower circuit, sometimes it wiggles just enough after I hit a bump or something and it breaks contact, the heater blower turns off.

I'm sure I'm not the only one to have this issue or something similar.

I am curious if there are any safe fixes some of you have come up with?

Thanks.

Woog there is a repair ( new clips) you can buy to repair your old broken clips, but if the plastic portion of the fuse box is broken you`ll need to repair with JB weld or buy new fuse block, the repair clips to install remove fuse box enough that you can flip it over remove the broken clip Cut off from wire and resolder a new clip on..

The right thing to do would be replace the fuse panel...that said you can buy clamps that hold the fuse tight go to Ebay and look up Fuse Tron they are little clamps that hold the fuse prongs tight on the fuse

Thank you for the replies everyone.

I took the fuse out and checked the clips for wiggle, they seem solid. I don't know if the fuse itself was cracked before or broke when I removed it, as it was REALLY in there on the right hand side of the panel, but the glass was cracked, so I replaced it with a new fuse.

Before I did that tho', I bent the right side clip down a smidge, then snapped the new fuse into place.

So far no issues with the heater going off... but will keep an eye on it.

Thanks for the tips on the clips, I found a few places that sell 'em, if I can figure out what size I actually need.

Yes, it does need a new fuse panel, but this one is an amazing feat of Caucasian modification at this point.

406Rich - yes, there is a good amount of epoxy holding this clip in place on the back side from a previous incident. :)

Thanks for the replies!
