1972 chevy c10

Hi am Gilbert. I have a 72 chevy c10 my truck has leaf springs i dont know why. But i want to lower the back and the only thing i see to lower the back is doing the flip. What are my options if i wanted to do air bags? How much work i got to do and how much money i got to put into it?

Do yourself a favor and research your trucks VIN to see what you really have. The frame has two spots one on the Driver side top frame horn area then the other under the Drivers side Cab. * * * Pic below shows locations.

If I recall leaf spring trucks are 3/4 ton and 1/2 tons use trailing arms with coil springs, there might be some "exceptions" though but others with better answers will/might chime in with an answer for you.

As for money spent to lower a truck it all depends on how you want it to "Handle" and or "Look". Some look great but handle like $ h ! t. But like always it depends on how much you are willing to spend on an "50+ year old truck". Condition of your truck "Dictates" where to start. How thick is your wallet guy, LOL

Keep in mind people have been known to changed out Frames all the time and as well have replaced welded in front Frame Rails meaning now you have maybe a frame with two different Partial VIN numbers due to maybe an Accident or even on "purpose". A lot of people don't know that these trucks have two spots having the partial VIN's. So if you have the chance to remove the Cab or just raise it enough to see the other VIN do so. If for some strange reason (not that it will happen) a Cop/CHP or what have you has to look at the other VIN and see they don't match * * * * you loose your truck guy and then its up to you to recoup your investments (money wise) through a Court of Law. So don't put any MONEY into the truck until you are "Positive" its right. I know what I just said/typed is a little "Paranoid" but it could happen too anybody.
