Trunk Pan

Started making some trunk pan braces.... So I got some 18 gauge, and formed some joggles on the outside of the panel and the stamped some 1 1/4 holes to really stiffen it up.





I also added the a radius edge to the side trunk panel ( drop off's )



Also got one of the trunk pans made up with the reveals. its just laying in place for now.



And here's from the underside, now its not quite in position, but you can get a good idea what it will look like when it's welded in place.



Now I made up some brackets for the fuel tank. I've decided to drop it another 5/8 lower. So when I get back to that, I'll post up some pictures....

That's a killer pan Steve, one question remains, (joggles) is that a technical term....? LOL

Yes Rich, a joggle is an old english term. It is also better known as step flange or offset.

Guys, I know it's been quite a while, but for what it's worth here's a quick update ! !

So I made a couple of flanges for filler tube for the top of the fuel cell








This one got welded under the top to except the flange on the filler tube.

Here's the baffle.




The trunk pan before the threw hole






A removable cover so you can remove the filler tube to drop the tank.










And there ya have it so far... We are working on getting the rear under the Stude now, and Jason ordered new rear wheels and tires, which came today ! ! so I will post when I can.
